Heraeus celebrates grand opening of new corporate headquarters

November 20, 2008

SOUTH BEND, Indiana--Heraeus, a leader in dental esthetics, officially opened the doors to its newly renovated facility at 300 Heraeus Way in South Bend.

The 25,000 square-foot, multipurpose facility, now houses business functions for Heraeus North America. This includes sales, customer service, finance, accounting, technical services, and marketing.

It also features a new three-story educational atrium with seating capacity of more than 100. Previously, only manufacturing and distribution activities took place at the facility. But the company made a decision in the spring of 2008 to relocate its corporate headquarters from Armonk, N.Y., to South Bend.

"There is much to celebrate," Christopher Holden, president of Heraeus Kulzer said during the grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting that included local dignitaries and media.

During the ceremony, Heraeus dedicated its new, educational center in honor of economically disadvantaged children nationwide who suffer from preventable dental disease.

Approximately four million children in the U.S. have dental problems so severe they have trouble eating, sleeping and learning, according to the National Children's Oral Health Foundation.

As part of its corporate citizenship program, Heraeus donates a percentage of proceeds each year to the Foundation and 100 percent of every dollar goes directly to sponsor children in need.

"Prosperity and responsibility go hand in hand," said Holden.
